Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 23 May 2026 · Required by FTC 16 CFR Part 255
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a URL that contains a unique identifier so that the merchant knows we referred you. If you click an affiliate link and then make a purchase, we receive a small commission. The price you pay is the same whether you click our link or go to the merchant directly.
Which links are affiliate links
Affiliate links on After Forty Feel are marked in one of three ways:
- An inline disclosure next to the link itself (e.g., "[paid link]" or "[affiliate]").
- A banner at the top of any article that contains affiliate links, before any product is mentioned.
- The "hop" URL pattern — any link going to
afterfortyfeel.com/hop/is an affiliate redirect.
If you are unsure whether a particular link is an affiliate link, assume that any link to a commercial product page may be.
Which affiliate programs we participate in
- ClickBank — health and wellness products. Industry-standard 30 to 60-day cookie window. We use ClickBank as a clearing house, not because we endorse every product on their marketplace.
- Amazon Associates — books, supplements, lab kits, and household items. 24-hour cookie window. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- Direct programs — a small number of testing companies, supplement brands, and SaaS tools where we have a direct affiliate relationship. Where this applies, we disclose the specific program on the page.
What we won't do
- We do not accept payment from brands to write a positive review.
- We do not run "sponsored content" disguised as editorial.
- We do not link to products we have not personally evaluated or that lack credible evidence behind their claims.
- We do not allow advertisers to influence the conclusions of our editorial articles.
- We do not run supplement-brand sponsorships inside the Sunday letter. (The Sunday letter is reader-funded only.)
How we evaluate products
Before we link to a product:
- We read the primary study evidence (not just marketing materials).
- We compare the product against alternatives at similar price points.
- We note the strongest counter-arguments against the product in the article itself.
- We disclose if our experience with the product was minimal or hypothetical (e.g. "we have not personally tried this, but here is why the published evidence is interesting").
Income claims
Any income figures or revenue claims on this site reflect either (a) our actual results, (b) the actual results of named third parties with permission, or (c) hypothetical scenarios clearly labeled as such. Your results will vary. Affiliate income depends on traffic, audience quality, offer-market fit, and a hundred other factors we cannot control.
Health and weight-loss claims
Any health, fitness, or weight-loss outcomes mentioned in association with a product represent the studies cited or the personal experience of named individuals. They are not typical results, and they are not a promise of what the product will do for you. See the Medical Disclaimer.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising," and the FTC's Endorsement Guides. International equivalents (UK CAP Code, EU UCPD, Canada's CASL, Australia's ACL) are honoured where applicable.
